4th of July

We had a blast this year on the 4th of July!

Every year since we have been blessed to live in the Jaussi House (a couple in our ward who is currently on a mission in Russia) we have had a big shin dig on the 4th. The Jaussi's have done a big party every year so we thought we'd try and keep the tradition alive! This was our third year doing it and also our last, which is a bummer because I finally feel like I know what I'm doing. :)

We love the 4th and Kyler is all about America so this is a holiday we get pretty excited about. :)

The day starts off with a parade- look at how many people come out, it's nuts!

We had lots of friends, family members and ward members come watch it with us on our lawn. We are grateful for their love and support!

After the parade we did a huge BBQ! We grilled up lots of chicken and our guests brought sides and desserts. It was a great turn out and the food was delish. :)

Afterwards we just kind of hung out around the house and then had a big ol' water fight. I dare say the water fight is my favorite part of the day. Some how those darn McCarty Brothers always seem to win and get us ladies soaked though...

And then later after drying off, we had to have an american flag afghan photo shoot- naturally. When we first moved into the house and saw this blanket, we realized we just had to do something memorable with it. :) It was just too good to be true.

After having some yummy burritos for dinner from Drew and Rachel we did a few fireworks and just had a fun night. Then we were so tired and it was time for sleep. :)

Such a great day. We are truly grateful for this amazing country and for the freedoms and independence we get to enjoy! May we forever be a country under God- I truly believe He is the reason we have been so blessed.
