Well, this boy is one month old today and we just love him so much!
He's a cluster feeder (especially in the late evening/early morning ๐ด) and although that can be hard, I'm just grateful that he is a great nurser and is getting the nutrition and calories he needs. ๐ This stage will pass all too quickly so I'm happy to deal with the weird sleep schedule while I enjoy the newborn snuggles and tininess. Although the newborn stage isn't my favorite overall, I definitely love many parts of it!
When Eli's awake, he is super alert and loves to make eye contact with mama! He has quite the talent at spitting up but thankfully he's a "happy spitter," so the only issue is the large amount of dirty laundry he creates ha ha inconvenient yes, but I'm grateful that it doesn't seem to hurt him!
He is growing so fast, I feel like I can hardly keep up! He is in size 2 diapers and is barely squeezing into his 0-3 month clothes, but 3 months fits him best. I haven't seen much chub per say but he's definitely getting longer. I wasn't prepared to start off with a practically 8lb baby (Hank and Rose were 6 lbs) and although I know that's still tiny it's still bigger than what I'm used to! It's been a little sad how fast he's grown out of his tiniest clothes, but I'm glad that he's growing and seems to be doing well!
Henry and Rose love him to pieces and always ask to hold him or give him kisses. โค๏ธ When they first wake up in the morning they try to find where he's sleeping (we put him in a little mobile bassinet during the day that we move around depending on where we're at) and they love to give me a play by play of everything he's doing. "Mom, Eli's sleeping! Oh he opened his eyes a little! Oh he's yawning mama! I think he's hungry, can you feed him?" It's pretty darn cute!
Grateful for this wee babe and all the joy he brings us daily!
And just for comparison sake, here's his newborn growth pictures! ย
