Rosie's Newborn update

I loved doing these growing updates with Henry, so it's fun to start all over with baby girl!

I love getting to see how quickly these little ones grow and change. :)

Rose is the easiest little thing. She rarely cries, and if she does it's an easy fix. She nurses like a champ and sleeps well throughout the day - we're working on night time :) I still can't believe my sweet girl is here! I love dressing her up in little bows and just smelling her. Newborn babes have the best smell.

These pictures crack me up a bit because it was SUCH a challenge to take any without Hank touching her or trying to get in on the shot. By the end of it all she was so tired and just done. It's an adventure having two under two, but I sure love my big Hank and my little Rosie girl. :)

Living Life

It's amazing how quickly we can fall into bad habits.

It seems my favorite thing to struggle with is technology. I love my phone. I love watching TV and movies. These things are really good things. They can do a lot of good and connect us to good information, fun pictures, and new perspectives.

However these things can also distract from that which is better. Lately I've been letting them distract me far too frequently. It's so easy to justify it when I'm tired from my sweet little newborn who wakes up 2-3 times at night. It's easy to just watch a Disney movie in my PJs. It's a bit more effort to put on clothes and take my energetic toddler outside, but I know it's better for the both of us in the long run.

I'm going to be better. I'm going to pick my phone up less and interact with my children and husband more. I'm going to exercise and play outside instead of turning on a movie. During nap times I want to be productive. I want to write down more of my thoughts and experiences. I want to read uplifting material and grow closer to God. I want to strengthen relationships and be a contributor to this world.

I want to enjoy this life, and really LIVE it. No more giving technology so much of my time. Naturally I'll still use these things and enjoy them every once in awhile, but I'm done being owned by them. Oh how I love these self reflection moments. :)
