St George

This past weekend we took a quick little family trip to St George! ​Kyler had a training for his calling on Friday night and Saturday. I was a bit bummed because that meant he'd be gone for 5 days this week for his calling instead of the usual 3. Something we've tried hard to implement the past few months is a night for just our nuclear family and a night for just our marriage. With Kyler's hectic schedule, we have to literally plan our weeks and schedule in time together, or else that important bonding time gets so easily pushed aside, and with the added training this week, I didn't know how we would fit it all in!

Kyler suggested we make a little family trip out of his training, so problem solved! We drove down Thursday night after Kyler got home from work, played all day Friday and then I dropped him off at his training at a scout camp.  We were able to have some TV time, walk around the St George temple and take a little hike, but most importantly we just had time to talk and laugh together. ❤️

After dropping Kyler off I wrangled the babes on my own for the rest of the night and we had an interesting time sleeping in the same room ​- that's for sure! Rose fell asleep, then by the time Hank finally fell asleep, Rose woke up, and then rinse and repeat another two times before we all got to bed 😳 they kept waking each other up, but eventually everyone went to sleep and we survived, so that's saying something!

​The next morning the babes and I went shopping and then after grabbing some lunch we picked Kyler up and headed home! It was a sporadic, quick trip but was just what we needed. ❤️ We have found with this new stage of life that it's more important than ever that we prioritize our nuclear family time and marriage time. Although it is often difficult and I miss Kyler a lot, I am so grateful that he makes our marriage and family a priority during this busy time of life. He is my best friend for sure. ❤️

The Most Amazing Lipstick

Guys- I don't normally do this kind of thing, but I have basically found the best lipstick product ever, and I just wanted to tell you about it because I love it so much! (Also I don't sell it, so this is NOT a sales pitch- just an honest opinion!)

I am a total lover of lipstick. I have naturally white lips, so adding some color is something I like to do as part of my normal make up routine. With typical Walmart or drug store lipstick though, I was getting annoyed because it rubbed off all. the. time. I had to reapply it 8000 times a day, especially after I ate food, brushed teeth, showered, kissed my husband or kids, or even after drinking water. It was just annoying to me! 

Then I started noticing videos on FB of women wearing lipstick that wouldn't rub off. They could eat, drink, kiss and literally rub their fingers all over their lips and their lipstick stayed intact. I was totally intrigued but didn't give it much thought at first because of the MLM style selling it was, and I usually avoid those types of things. It was called Lipsense and at first I disregarded it as some over priced thing that was probably too good to be true.  

But then I would catch myself thinking about it throughout the day when I had to reapply my drugstore lipstick yet again. And I even got to the point where I was DREAMING about magical lipstick that stayed on all day long. It was pretty obvious that I needed to ask someone about it because the idea of long lasting lipstick was basically stalking me! 

Luckily one of my very best friends Hayley had some because her mom sells it. I trust this girl with all of my heart and her and her mom loved this product, so that made me more comfortable looking into it. I told them I was interested, she gave me her honest opinion on it and then came to visit me and let me try on some of the colors she had. 

At first I felt anxious about finding the right color and applying it but after some practice and trying on a few different options I settled on a color and felt so excited! I got a starter kit and ever since that day (almost 4 months ago) I've been obsessed!  

This lipstick, Lipsense, is the absolute real deal. I apply it in the morning and can kiss my kids, shower, eat, brush my teeth, kiss my husband and still have beautiful lips. I've eaten ribs and chicken wings while wearing it and it stayed on beautifully. I even went to the dentist today, had a teeth cleaning and filling, and it stayed intact and looked amazing afterward. Lipsense has totally lived up to all of its promises and it has been so worth it. It's also helped my lips exfoliate and heal from years of chapstick use and they feel and look healthier. I just love it so much!
